The benefits of the Catholic Faith are only recently being singled out from other “Religions.” With over 12 years of scientific studies and 33 years of scientific practice, I have always been looking for a Rosetta Stone (Foundational Proof) that would unravel the scientific debate about which Religion is best.
Science has been speaking about this, but few are listening. With assisted suicide, and euthanasia on the rise and getting out of hand, the human organism has been looking for a solution and in despair has not found an answer – so they kill themselves.
“I shall give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14).
“Even temporal goods like health and friendship can be merited in accordance with God’s wisdom” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 2010).
In 2016 Harvard University did a landmark study, in which they studied religious service attendance amongst different religious practices. Various religions gave different results. Key amongst them is the Catholic Faith.
Those Catholics who attend Catholic Mass twice a week have 0 suicides. Zero. Not zero percent, not zero rounded down. Absolutely zero.
No other religion benefited from zero suicides attending their religious services. The Catholic Faith is the rock upon which science bases its studies.
“I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).
“The Eucharist, the bread that gives eternal life and that St. Paul suggests is connected with bodily health” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, John 4:14).
Catholics who teaching Natural Family Planning (NFP) have a 0 divorce rate. Zero. Not zero percent, not zero rounded down. Absolutely zero. The Couple to Couple League cited this study in the 1990s.
No other religion experienced such a divorce rate. The couple has to teach NFP together, according to the findings of the study. Since there are only 177 dioceses, the sample size was small (67) couples.
However, this correlates with the infinitesimally small divorce rate amongst NFP practicing couples (0.67%) of a larger study. It is not hard to see that Catholic Faith has a social benefit according to scientific studies, not just individual benefits.
Part of the social benefits can stem from the social reinforcement of Catholic Practice: “Our Father,” “Pray for Us,” Have mercy on us,” etc. In the Catholic Faith, social reinforcement theory is proven.
“So they are no longer two but one. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matthew 19:6).
“Divorce is immoral also because it introduces disorder into the family and into society” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 2385).
“Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more” (Romans 5:20).
Many religions have the benefit of pain management with prayer, but given the zero suicide rate and zero divorce rate, it is not hard to deduce that Catholic Faith has more benefits for pain reduction. It actually bestows zero suicides from its practice.
Further research is required to see the elimination of pain results from attending Catholic Mass twice a week alone. It would not be surprising to see a link or cause.
It requires two hours of prayer a day to eliminate pain, according to most studies (see the works cited). More specifics are not available at this time.
“[H]e who prophesies speaks to men for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation” (1 Corinthians 14:3).
“[T]he joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
Pinnacle of Life
These scientific results point to the Catholic Faith is the pinnacle of life. No other religion, no other practice has these results.
“I am the…Life. No one comes to the Father but by me” (John 14:6).
Scientists and scholars should rethink their figurative view of Scriptural verses. This verse has proven to be literally and factually true on many occasions.
“[T]he water that I shall give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:14).
Lord, Water of Life, be our hearts, bodies and souls Salvation. Through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Life. Amen.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us to your Father. Amen. +M
