Germany has made many errors recently, including trying to bless gay marriages. Germany has had much conflict with the Vatican over the years.
Falling Church Membership
Jesus had much to say about this:
If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you” (John 15:19).
The Apostle Paul said:
“Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:3).
The Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
Victory over the “prince of this world” was won once for all at the Hour when Jesus freely gave himself up to death to give us his life (Paragraph, 2853).
German Catholics pay a tax to support the Church, which is mandatory. This tax dates back the Christendom, when rulers of Europe were Catholic kings.
The Vatican has determined this tax is valid. This includes a conflict with German Laity not paying their Catholic taxes, because of scandalous clergy.
Catholics may withhold their money from the Church and give to other Catholic causes. The requirement is simply to “give to the Mission of the Church.”
Subsistence payments should be made to the Vatican to support the papacy. How much is up to individual Catholics to decide.
Some Catholics give to their Parishes and not to Peter’s Pence which supports the Vatican. Church Law only enforced a tithe in Charlemange’s time (8th Century).
Germany is trying to bless Gay “Marriages” lately, or more properly, homosexual ‘damnable offenses.’ They have had several run-ins with the Vatican of Several popes, including Pope Saint John Paul II.
German Catholic Church The New Lutherans?
In the sixteenth century, German Princes rebelled against the Catholic Church egged on by “anti-Saint” Martin Luther. Martin Luther split the Church, leading former Catholics into grave error with Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) by which he thought to privately interpret the Bible apart from a Pope.
Protestants today continue this error, despite the fact that they have over 200 different denominations according to State Registrars in the United States, according to some sources.
A denomination (sect) is an authoritative body set up for deciding Church matters including Doctrine. A Pope is the Authority for the Catholic Church. There is no Body with authority in the Catholic Church, save the Bishops who join together with the Pope.
Given the totality of the circumstances, it seems Germany has entered into a schism of sorts. There is material schism (factual) and formal (factual and knowingly) schism.
Schism means separation. With its new synod, Germany has certainly separated from the Vatican in this instance.
Vision (9/16/18, 6:19 PM): Cardinal Marx leads German Faithful into a Cathedral filled with darkness. The torch he bears flickers with sputtering to stay alight.
A man with a torch burning like the Sun, stands before him with a halo. A holy Saint, the man places his torch in a sconce, leads the Faithful across the road to a Cathedral filled with light.
Cardinal Marx grabs the man’s torch and crosses the road in a panic. The man-Saint is standing there with an identical torch to the one he left in the Cathedral of Darkness, lighting the torches of the Catholic Faithful (see Revelation 4:5).
